James Webber Bio

James Webber – Writer / Director / Producer

James Webber has worked professionally as a filmmaker for over 10 years, making numerous music videos, promos, and commercials. He has also written and directed several award-winning shorts.

James’ first major short, the highly acclaimed Driftwood, has won around 20 awards/accolades at international festivals; including a prestigious ‘Coup de Coeur’ at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and was long-listed for both a BAFTA and a BIFA for ‘Best Short Film’. The film was picked up for distribution by Shorts International and, in the summer of 2014, it was broadcast on Channel 4. James’ follow up to Driftwood was drama short Soror, which hosted an impressive ensemble cast including double BAFTA winner Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones, The Witch), Rosie Day (Outlander), Sian Breckin (Starred Up, Tyrannosaur), James Alexandrou (Eastenders) and David Avery (The Night Manager).

Other credits include directing horror shorts The Prey – which has, so far, gained over two million views online and includes famed genre filmmaker Eli Roth as one of its fans – and Hushy Bye. James also produced The Halloween Kid alongside Neil Marshall (The Descent, Game of Thrones). Starring Sir Derek Jacobi (Gladiator), Anna Walton (Hellboy 2) and Julian Glover (Game of Thrones). The Halloween Kid premiered at Frightfest in 2012.

James’ commercial clients include Film4, Disney, Google, Amnesty International, Media Trust, Spectra, MasterCard, Clogau Gold, Academy and Sony.

In 2014 Webber co-founded The Springhead Film Company.

Nick Khosla Bio

Nick Khosla – Producer

Nick Khosla specialises in the production, finance and distribution of motion pictures and other entertainment programs and products, as well as copyright and literary property. He also practices in the Internet and new media areas.

Following his tenure in private practice, Nick took a gap year to study Film and Television Production at Los Angeles Film School. He joined Fierce Entertainment LLC, a production and distributor-agent company, as General Counsel. During this time, he was admitted to the State Bar of California as an Attorney-at-Law. Nick represented foreign buyers including ZDF Enterprises, DeAPlaneta and Front Row Filmed Entertainment during film markets in the acquisition of films in their respective territories.

Nick was also legal adviser in the film financing of Seeking Justice starring Nicholas Cage, Faces in the Crowd starring Milla Jovovich and Wild Oats starring Shirley MacLaine. He has also worked with production companies on the renegotiation of territorial rights for the films Jungle Book, Goal!, Carolina and Marvel’s Man Thing.

Nick also has a wealth of television experience having worked for television distribution companies including Sierra Affinity’s television arm (Sierra Engine) providing production and distribution legal services in relation to a combination of “scripted” and “non-scripted” television shows including music competition series Coliseum, co-created by Gene Simmons and the upcoming crime-drama Mrs Mafia.

Nick continues to work actively in the United Kingdom, fostering new talent and representing producers, directors and writers.

Lorenzo Levrini Bio

Lorenzo Levrini – Director of Photography

Lorenzo Levrini is a London-based director of photography, whose credits include over 50 short films, as well as countless commercials and music videos. His first feature credit was Redcon-1, starring Carlos Gallardo (El Mariachi) and he recently shot the drama portions of the acclaimed BAFTA- winning BBC2 documentary feature, Gun No. 6.

Lorenzo has collaborated on several of Sorority writer/director James webber’s previous shorts, including The Prey, Hushy Bye and Soror – the short on which Sorority is based.

Derek Kirkup Bio

Derek Kirkup – Composer

Derek Kirkup is an English composer based in Bristol. A graduate of the Academy of Contemporary music, he started his career in songwriting before moving into scoring for film.

Among his credits are the award-winning interactive feature Olive Green, which won in competition with HBO’s Game of Thrones web series to win the Gold World medal at New York Festivals TV and Film awards. He has collaborated with director Carl Mackenzie several times, including on the acclaimed short The Interrogation of Olivia Donovan. Other works include two further collaborations with James Webber on the shorts Hushy Bye and Condensation, as well as TV series The Marshlands.

In addition to his film scoring work, Derek is associate producer and composer with interactive-film company Choice Point Productions, alongside Carl Mackenzie and founder and psychologist Kasia Wilk, with the aim of producing drama that promotes conscious awareness of the power of choice.

Monika Radwanska Bio

Monika Radwanska – Editor

Monika Radwanska is a London based editor. Originally from Poland, she moved to the UK to study a master’s degree in Post Production Editing at Bournemouth University. After receiving her degree with honours, she took a position at the BBC, in their Branded Services Creative team.

In 2015, she left the BBC and joined the editorial team on the critically acclaimed and award winning feature film Lady Macbeth. From there, she established herself as an assistant editor while primarily working on studio films such as Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Angel Has Fallen, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! and The Commuter.

Throughout her career Monika has edited numerous short films and branded content. In 2013, her commercial spot promoting the European Night of Museums in Poland was broadcast on TVP (Polish Television). One of her recent projects, the short film Sid, won the award for Best Editing at the Global Shorts film festival in Los Angeles.

Monika has been a member of BAFTA Crew since 2018.

Michael Bates Bio

Michael F. Bates – Sound Designer

Michael F. Bates is a supervising sound editor, sound designer and re-recording mixer working across film and television.

Over the last ten years he has worked on films that have been screened at Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying film festivals, shown at Picturehouse Cinemas nationwide, as well as working with Turner Prize winning artists and on installations that have been shown at the Venice Biennale.

He is a member of the Association of Motion Picture Sound, the craft guild for film, television and game sound and has also been selected as a participant in the BAFTA Crew development programme for 2017, 2018 and 2019.

For Sorority he spent time during production and post recording in every location the film was shot in, amassing a huge library of unique sounds that are heard throughout the film.

Jonny Pickup Bio

Jonny Pickup – 1st Assistant Director

Jonny Pickup is a 1st Assistant Director from London, England.

In 2015 – despite not having an undergraduate degree – Jonny was invited to start a Masters at Leeds University at the School of Media and Communication focusing on filmmaking. He graduated in 2016 with a high distinction winning the prestigious University award for outstanding work.

Since graduating, Jonny has worked on feature-length films with cinema releases, commercials for global brands, and music videos for household name artists.

Inmaculada Cook – Production Designer

Inma Cook specialises in production design, art directing and also works as a theatre technician. She has worked on a range of short films, music videos, feature films and theatre shows. Inma has grown up in England and is also half Spanish.

Inma graduated from Nottingham Trent in 2013 where she studied a degree in Theatre Design. This lead her to work on her first music video ‘Hands Up If You’re Lost’ by We Show Up on Radar. This music video won two Limelight awards for Best Visual and Best Music Video.

In 2016 Inma worked on Lady M as a production designer. This short film has since won awards including The Audience Choice Award at The Exit Film Festival and Best Film at The Milwaukee Short Film Festival.

Inma has also worked as a production designer and art director on a number of short films and music videos which include Hushy Bye, The Other Side with Valerie Hope, Snowflakes and a music video for ‘Man didn’t Walk on the Moon’ by artist Nerina Pallot.

Becky Seager Bio

Rebecca Seager – Costume Designer

Becky Seager has been costume styling for 20 years, working with artists such as; George Michael, Kylie Minogue, The Pet Shop Boys, The Cure and Pink.

Over the years, Becky has worked on many short films, award-winning advertisements and several costumed plays at The Globe and Stratford Playhouse.

Abi Lawrence Bio

Abigail Lawrence – Hair & Make Up Designer

Abi Lawrence is a hair and make up artist based in London, and working across the UK.

Since graduating from Chelsea College of Arts, with a BA in Fine Art, Abi has utilised her creative eye and embarked upon a career as a make up artist.

Abi works across all areas, including fashion, commercials, and film – with a current focus on long form narrative projects.
